Orienteering

An outdoor navigation sport in which participants use a detailed map and compass to find a series of checkpoints, or controls, in unfamiliar terrain as quickly as possible. It combines physical endurance from running or hiking with mental route-planning skills, and is practiced both competitively and recreationally in forests, parks, and urban settings.
