Lumberjack Sports

Lumberjack sports (also called timbersports or logging sports) are competitive events derived from traditional forestry work, including log chopping, sawing, axe throwing, pole climbing, and log rolling. They grew out of contests held by North American logging camp workers who turned everyday work skills into feats of strength and precision. Modern competitions like the STIHL Timbersports Series draw enthusiasts who enjoy the combination of raw power, technique, and logging heritage.
