Jousting

Jousting is a medieval combat sport in which two mounted knights, armored and carrying lances, charge at each other along a barrier or tiltyard in an attempt to unseat their opponent or shatter their lance in a controlled strike. It was a prominent form of chivalric tournament entertainment and training in medieval and Renaissance Europe. Today it survives as a niche competitive and performance sport at renaissance fairs and historical reenactment events, requiring skilled horsemanship and precise timing.
