Jineteada Gaucha

Jineteada gaucha is a traditional Argentine and Uruguayan equestrian sport in which a rider, or jineteada, attempts to stay mounted on a bucking, unbroken horse for a set period, similar to rodeo bronc riding. It grew out of the working culture of the gaucho, the South American cowboy, and is showcased at rural festivals and gaucho celebrations as a display of horsemanship and courage. The sport remains a point of cultural pride in the Southern Cone, though it has also drawn criticism from animal welfare advocates.
