Horseshoe

A horseshoe is a U-shaped piece of metal nailed to the underside of a horse's hooves to protect them from wear, and by extension refers to the equipment used in the game of horseshoes. Traditionally made by farriers, horseshoes are also kept as folk-tradition good-luck charms hung above doorways.
