Fast-Pitch Softball

Fast-pitch softball is a variant of softball in which the pitcher throws the ball underhand at high speed, using a windmill motion, making it the more competitive and athletically demanding counterpart to slow-pitch softball. It is played by teams of nine on a diamond similar to baseball's but with a smaller field and a larger ball, and is a common youth, collegiate, and Olympic sport, particularly for women. Players are drawn to its blend of pitching speed, quick reflexes, and strategic base-running.
