English pleasure is a horse show class, common in breeds like the American Saddlebred and Morgan, in which horses are judged on their manners, smoothness of gaits, and overall way of going while ridden in English tack at the walk, trot, and canter. Judges favor horses that appear calm, responsive, and pleasant to ride rather than flashy or high-stepping. It's a staple class at breed-specific horse shows across North America.
