Compound Bow

A compound bow is a modern archery bow that uses a system of cams or pulleys and cables to bend the limbs, creating a mechanical 'let-off' that reduces the force an archer must hold at full draw compared to a traditional bow. This makes it easier to aim steadily and shoot with greater accuracy and power, which is why it's widely used in bowhunting and target archery competitions, including some Olympic-adjacent events. Archers favor it for its precision, adjustability, and reduced physical strain during aiming.
