Cirit

Cirit is a traditional Turkic equestrian team sport in which mounted riders throw a blunt wooden javelin (also called a cirit) at opposing riders, who must dodge or catch it while riding at speed. Historically used to train cavalry and demonstrate horsemanship among Turkic peoples of Central Asia and Anatolia, it survives today as a competitive folk sport in Turkey and neighboring regions. Enthusiasts value it for testing horsemanship, agility, and courage in a fast, tactical team contest.
