Baiting

Baiting generally refers to using food, scent, or decoys to lure animals for hunting, fishing, trapping, or wildlife observation and photography, such as chumming water for fish or placing feed to attract deer. It's a long-practiced technique among hunters and anglers to increase the chances of an encounter, though it's regulated or banned in some jurisdictions to prevent unfair advantage or disease spread. Historically, the term was also used for blood sports like bear-baiting and bull-baiting, now widely outlawed.
