Serbian Language

Languages

Serbian is a South Slavic language spoken by around 9-12 million people, primarily in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and among diaspora communities worldwide. It is notable for being digraphic, written in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts, and is mutually intelligible with Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin as part of the pluricentric Serbo-Croatian language continuum. People learn it for heritage, family, business, or cultural connections to the Balkans.
