Insurance adjusting is the process of investigating and evaluating insurance claims to determine the extent of an insurer's liability and the appropriate payout amount. Insurance adjusters inspect damage, review policy coverage, interview claimants and witnesses, and negotiate settlements, working either for insurance companies or as independent public adjusters representing policyholders.
