Income Statement

Finance and Accounting

An income statement, also called a profit and loss statement, is a financial report showing a company's revenues, expenses, and resulting net income or loss over a specific period. It's one of the three core financial statements (alongside the balance sheet and cash flow statement) used by accountants, investors, and executives to assess profitability and operational performance. Analysts use it to calculate metrics like gross margin, operating margin, and earnings per share.
