Languages

Georgian is the official language of Georgia, a South Caucasus country, and is written in its own unique Georgian script (Mkhedruli). It belongs to the Kartvelian language family, is unrelated to neighboring Indo-European or Turkic languages, and is spoken by roughly 4 million people. Learners and speakers use it for communication in Georgia, engagement with Georgian culture and literature, and business or diplomatic relations in the region.
