Financial Auditing

Finance and Accounting

Financial auditing is the systematic, independent examination of an organization's financial statements and underlying records to verify their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards like GAAP or IFRS. It is performed by internal auditors or external certified public accountants (CPAs) and firms, and produces an opinion used by investors, regulators, and management to assess the reliability of reported financial information. Auditors also test internal controls to detect errors, fraud, or misstatements.
