Tennessee Postings Up 47% Week Over Week — 295 New Roles Across the Boards We Track | Career App Daily

Tennessee picked up 295 new postings this week across the employer job boards Career App tracks, up from 201 the week before. That is 94 more roles and a 46.8% increase — faster than the national week, which rose 28.6% (11,010 new postings this week against 8,564 the prior week).

Jobs in Tennessee ranked fifth of the 12 states with openings on our boards this week, behind California (932), Texas (559), New York (519) and Florida (427), and just ahead of Ohio (273).

Tennessee gained share, not just volume

Because Tennessee grew faster than the overall pool, its slice of new postings widened: 2.7% of all new roles this week, up from 2.3% the week before. Small movement in absolute terms, but it points the right direction while the national board is churning.

And it is churning. Site-wide we counted 11,010 postings opened in the last seven days against 20,225 closed — more roles came off the boards than went on. Total open listings stand at 57,051 from 691 employers hiring. Remote roles were 5% of everything new this week.

Where Tennessee sits on growth

By percentage change, Tennessee was the fourth-fastest mover of the 12 states we saw openings in:

• Michigan: 256 new, up from 88
• Florida: 427 new, up from 207
• Wisconsin: 178 new, up from 105
• Tennessee: 295 new, up from 201
• Illinois: 201 new, up from 149

One state went backwards: Massachusetts posted 213 new roles this week against 327 the week before. California grew the least in percentage terms among the states that grew at all — 932 from 798 — but it is still more than three times Tennessee's volume.

What we can't tell you

The brief asked which employers and occupations are behind Tennessee's week. Honestly: this week's packet does not break new postings down by state and employer together, and the occupation ranking came back empty, so we are not going to guess. Naming a national top-poster and implying it did the hiring in Nashville or Memphis would be making it up.

What we can say is which employers drove the national week. AdventHealth led with 416 new postings and 964 open, followed by Ranger Boats (363 new, 718 open), Meijer (340 new, 678 open), Cleveland Clinic (319 new, 903 open) and JLL (309 new, 363 open). Also in the top ten: Citigroup, Tyson Foods, Target, Lifepoint Hospitals and U.S. Bank, which carries the largest backlog of the group at 941 open roles against 241 new. Health systems and large-footprint retail and food operators dominate that list, but the state-level attribution isn't in the data.

Posted pay, national scope

Salary figures on Career App come from employer-posted ranges annualized to USD, and this week's medians are national, not Tennessee-specific. For scale: Machine Learning Engineer posts a $283,500 median across 106 listings, Engineering Manager $280,000 across 213, Software Engineer $240,000 across 1,168, and Sales Representative $79,250 across 158. The two smallest pools there are barely over 100 listings, so treat them as indicative rather than settled.
