Minnesota Postings Triple to 213 New Roles This Week, the Biggest Jump of Any State We Track | Career App Daily

Minnesota went from 62 new postings one week to 213 the next across the employer job boards we track — up 244%, or roughly 3.4 times the prior week. That is the largest week-over-week percentage gain of any of the 12 states with openings in our data, and it is not close: the runner-up, Colorado, grew 93%.

For scale, Minnesota still ranks eighth of twelve by raw volume this week. Its 213 new roles are about 2.2% of the 9,837 postings that opened across all boards we track in the last seven days. So this is a small base moving fast, not a state suddenly outposting California (775 new) or Texas (521).

How it sits against the national week

The whole tracked footprint sped up. New postings rose from 7,310 the prior week to 9,837 this week, a 34.6% increase. That comparison covers only boards we were already crawling before the comparison window opened — newly added boards are excluded, so onboarding never reads as a hiring boom. Minnesota's 244% gain therefore runs about seven times the national rate of change.

Every one of the twelve states we track posted more roles this week than last, but the spread is wide. California added the most in absolute terms (+95) while growing only 14%. Minnesota added +151 postings on a base one-eleventh California's size.

Worth noting

• Closures outran openings. Across the boards we track, 19,309 listings closed in the last seven days against 9,837 that opened. Total open listings stand at 56,989 from 687 employers hiring. A fast week of new postings is not the same as a growing pool.
• A 62-posting base is small. A single mid-sized employer refreshing its board can swing a state that size by triple digits. Watch whether Minnesota holds near 200 next week or falls back toward its prior level before calling it a trend.
• Remote is a sliver. Just 5% of new postings this week were remote, so state-level counts are mostly about where the work physically is.

On posted pay, our salary figures come from employer-posted ranges annualized to USD, not member reports, and they are national rather than state-level. The largest pool is Software Engineer at a $240,000 median across 1,107 listings; Engineering Manager and Machine Learning Engineer both sit at $280,000, though the latter rests on just 97 listings. None of that is Minnesota-specific.
