Arizona Postings Up 60% Week Over Week: 162 New Roles Across the Boards We Track | Career App Daily

Arizona logged 162 new postings this week across the employer job boards we track, up from 101 the prior week. That is a 60% increase, and it outpaced the national week: new postings across all boards we track went from 7,310 to 9,837, a gain of 34.6%.

Arizona is the smallest state in our data. Our snapshot shows openings in 12 states, and the packet's state list covers exactly those 12 — Arizona sits last on it. So a 61-posting swing reads as a big percentage on a small base. Treat it as a directional signal, not a labor-market verdict.

Where Arizona sits in the pack

California (775 new), Texas (521) and New York (472) still lead by volume, and together those three account for more new postings than the other nine states in the list combined. Arizona's 162 is roughly a fifth of California's total.

On growth, though, Arizona is mid-pack-to-strong: fifth fastest of the 12 states, behind Minnesota (62 to 213), Colorado (105 to 203), Illinois (135 to 244) and Florida (240 to 405). It grew faster than California (+14%), Texas (+30%) and Ohio (+18%).

Arizona's share of all new postings nudged up from 1.4% to 1.6% week over week. The full 12-state list accounts for 3,893 of the 9,837 new postings — about 40% — so a majority of new roles this week carry no state we can slot into this ranking.

The wider backdrop

Two numbers keep the Arizona gain in proportion. First, 19,309 listings closed in the last 7 days against 9,837 opened — churn is running well ahead of net addition across the whole set of boards we track. Second, the 30-day comparison is stretched: 40,749 new postings in the last 30 days against 16,240 in the prior 30. Some of that is genuine posting velocity and some is the shape of a growing crawl, though our week-over-week figure excludes boards added after the comparison began, so onboarding doesn't masquerade as hiring.

Remote made up just 5% of new postings this week, pool-wide, which means Arizona job seekers are mostly looking at location-tied roles.
