Florida Postings Nearly Doubled This Week: 438 New Roles vs 224 | Career App Daily
Florida added 438 new roles this week across the employer job boards we track, up from 224 the week before. That is a 95% jump, the largest week-over-week percentage gain of any state in our top-12 list, and it moved Florida from sixth place to fourth.
For scale: the whole tracked network went from 9,189 new roles last week to 10,028 this week, a gain of 839. Florida's 214-posting increase accounts for about a quarter of that entire national net gain. The state's share of all new postings roughly doubled too, from 2.4% of the week to 4.4%.

Where Florida sits in the pack
Only California (760), Texas (561) and New York (490) opened more roles this week than Florida did. But the states ahead of it moved in different directions: California actually fell 19% from 940, and Massachusetts dropped 35% from 309 to 200. The upward movers were clustered — Michigan +76%, Wisconsin +71%, Illinois +50%, Texas +34% — with Florida at the top of that group.

One scope note before anyone reads a Sun Belt boom into this: our crawl currently shows openings in 12 states, so this ranking is a comparison among the boards we happen to track, not a map of the US labor market. A single large employer switching on a batch of requisitions can move a state 200 postings in a week at this sample size.
What we can and can't say about who's hiring
Here is the honest limit of today's data: the packet gives us employer counts for the network as a whole, not broken out by state, and this week's occupation mix came back empty. So we can tell you Florida's volume doubled, but we cannot attribute those 438 postings to named employers or job titles without guessing, and we won't.
What the network-wide employer leaderboard does show, for context on the kind of week this was:
- AdventHealth — 820 new this week, 968 open
- Ranger Boats — 363 new, 718 open
- Meijer — 340 new, 678 open
- JLL — 309 new, 363 open
- Citigroup — 299 new, 511 open
- Lifepoint Hospitals — 245 new, 344 open
- U.S. Bank — 241 new, 941 open
- Jabil — 213 new, 727 open
- Longs Drugs — 197 new, 203 open
- Boeing — 196 new, 585 open
Health systems and multi-site retail and banking dominate that list, which is the shape of a high-volume hiring week rather than a specialist one. Whether any given Florida posting came from those boards is not something this data resolves. If you want the actual titles, the Florida jobs page lists them live.
The wider week
The network holds 56,939 open listings from 691 employers. Against 10,028 new postings in the last seven days, 18,656 listings closed — so total inventory is shrinking even in a week when new postings rose. Remote work stayed thin: 6% of new postings this week were remote.
On pay, our posted-salary medians are employer-posted ranges annualized to USD and are not split by state, so they say nothing specific about Florida. Network-wide, the deepest priced pool is Software Engineer at a $240,000 median across 1,246 listings, followed by Product Manager at $243,850 across 346. Smaller pools skew higher — Engineering Manager and Machine Learning Engineer both sit at a $280,000 median, but on 226 and 116 listings respectively, so treat those as thin.
The one number to keep: Florida doubled off a low base in a week when the national total rose 9%. One more week of 400-plus tells you it's a trend. This week, it's a spike.
