Staff Security Engineer

Staff Security Engineers design and implement security architecture, controls, and practices across product development, cloud infrastructure, and engineering systems at senior technical levels. They embed security throughout the development lifecycle through automation, frameworks, and developer workflows; mentor teams on emerging threats; and shape security strategy for large organizations. The role requires deep expertise in product security, cloud platforms, infrastructure hardening, and often AI/ML systems security, and suits experienced engineers who want significant technical and architectural influence.

Duties & responsibilities

• Design and implement security frameworks that integrate secure practices into developer workflows and engineering systems
• Architect security controls across hybrid cloud infrastructure, on-premise systems, and corporate environments
• Conduct threat modeling and offensive security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities
• Secure AI and machine learning systems including model pipelines, inference architectures, and container orchestration platforms
• Mentor engineering teams on secure coding practices and emerging security threats
• Build automation and guardrails that make secure development the default path for large organizations
• Establish and operate security practices across multiple teams and engineering platforms at scale
