CNC Programmer

CNC Programmers write and optimize programs that control computer numerical control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision parts from metal, composite, and other materials. Duties & responsibilities

Write and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to machine precision parts from design specifications
Program and operate multi-axis CNC machines including 2-axis, 3-axis, 5-axis mills, and mill/turn equipment
Manually edit and optimize G-code to improve production efficiency and part quality
Develop tooling strategies and machine setup instructions for parts moving from prototype to production
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine machining processes and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
Qualify advanced tooling and simulate multi-axis operations to verify program accuracy before production runs
Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up knowledge to ensure parts meet design specifications
