What they ask for
Required
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience including hands-on technical close work
- Ownership of technical close areas such as stock compensation, leases, capitalized software, or payroll accounting
- Experience reviewing another accountant's work
- Deep operational US GAAP knowledge in capitalization, equity compensation, leases, payroll, intercompany transactions, foreign currency, and cutoff
- Hands-on ERP and systems experience
- Daily use of LLMs for accounting work with demonstrated reasoning about where AI is trustworthy versus where it requires human judgment
- Comfort writing small scripts in Python, SQL, or Google Apps Script for automation and data pulls
- Strong written communication skills
- High integrity and ownership mindset
Nice to have
- Active CPA
- Big 4 or national accounting firm background
- Experience preparing for or running a first external audit
- Experience implementing or migrating an ERP system
- SaaS, usage-based, or AI infrastructure accounting experience
- Multi-entity and international intercompany accounting exposure
- SOX control design and documentation experience or public-company close background
- Experience managing offshore or outsourced accounting teams
- Familiarity with modern accounting stack tools through hands-on use
