Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
Deep hands-on experience with data modeling and database/warehouse design
Strong SQL and Python proficiency (pandas, PySpark, or similar)
Production experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with data quality checks
Hands-on experience with at least one BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, QuickSight, or similar)
Track record of mentoring or leading engineers or analysts
Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and partner with stakeholders to structure data models
Strong communication and documentation skills
Agile environment experience
Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT/Claude)

Nice to have

Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake)
AWS experience (Athena, Glue, managed data services)
Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, vector, and data warehouse/lakehouse architectures
Experience with dbt or analogous version-controlled data modeling practices
Experience scaling data for ML/AI workloads
Experience designing semantic or metrics layers for AI-powered or natural-language BI
Background in automotive, AV, robotics, or safety-critical data environments
