What they ask for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
- Deep hands-on experience with data modeling and database/warehouse design
- Strong SQL and Python proficiency (pandas, PySpark, or similar)
- Production experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with data quality checks
- Hands-on experience with at least one BI tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, QuickSight, or similar)
- Track record of mentoring or leading engineers or analysts
- Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and partner with stakeholders to structure data models
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Agile environment experience
- Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT/Claude)
Nice to have
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake)
- AWS experience (Athena, Glue, managed data services)
- Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, vector, and data warehouse/lakehouse architectures
- Experience with dbt or analogous version-controlled data modeling practices
- Experience scaling data for ML/AI workloads
- Experience designing semantic or metrics layers for AI-powered or natural-language BI
- Background in automotive, AV, robotics, or safety-critical data environments
