What they ask for
Required
- Design controls over cloud or compute cost, or comparable high-volume usage-based processes
- Proven ability to establish or scale SOX controls at newly public or pre-IPO companies
- Deep understanding of compute accruals, vendor commitments, cost allocation, financial close, and US GAAP
- Experience evaluating SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports and complementary user entity controls
- Ability to work with large datasets and data pipelines
- Structure ambiguous control problems and influence across stakeholders without direct authority
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or IT/Engineering
Nice to have
- 12+ years of hands-on SOX, internal audit, or internal controls experience in both Big 4 and in-house roles at fast-paced tech companies
- CPA or CISA certification
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure billing and commitment structures
- SQL and comfort validating usage, telemetry, and cost data directly
- Experience with cost of revenue, gross margin reporting, and allocation methodologies
- Experience applying AI/ML to audit, compliance, or risk management
- Understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting and infrastructure-related accounting standards
- Experience at high-growth AI or technology companies
