What this role is
This role leads the design and operation of configuration and experimentation infrastructure that enables engineers across Anthropic to safely test and roll out changes at scale. You'll own the technical strategy for feature flagging, dynamic configuration, and A/B testing platforms while working independently on high-impact systems that support both research and production workloads.

- Deep experience with configuration management, feature flagging, or experimentation platforms in large-scale environments
- Strong proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go
- Experience with container orchestration and infrastructure at scale
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and professional experience
Nice to have
- 15+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale developer infrastructure
- 3+ years leading large-scale complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead
- Experience with platforms like Statsig, GrowthBook, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or Unleash
- Experience designing experimentation frameworks including randomization, assignment, metrics pipelines, and statistical analysis
- Experience with dynamic configuration systems and safe rollout mechanisms
- Experience building CLI tools, developer-facing services, and integrating into CI/CD pipelines
