- J.D. from accredited law school
- active bar admission
- 8+ years privacy law experience
- in-house experience at healthcare or digital health company or top-tier law firm healthcare practice
- deep expertise in HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules
- fluency in state consumer privacy and health data laws
- demonstrated experience managing end-to-end privacy incidents and breach notifications
- track record advising on privacy-by-design for digital products
- ability to communicate regulatory concepts clearly to non-legal audiences
- autonomous judgment in ambiguous regulatory environments
- manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- strong attention to detail
- collegial, cross-functional collaboration style
Nice to have
- experience at digital health, telehealth, or health technology company
- familiarity with AI and machine-learning privacy governance
- experience with health information exchanges and interoperability frameworks like Carequality, CommonWell, TEFCA
- knowledge of ERISA and self-funded health plan privacy
- privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPM, CHPS
- experience supporting clinical research privacy compliance and IRB-adjacent work
