  • 5–8 years of HR experience in a hands-on generalist or HR manager role at a startup or lean environment
  • Hands-on execution focus with satisfaction in doing the work well
  • Strong working knowledge of Canada and US employment law for distributed workforces
  • Proven experience with performance management, difficult conversations, and PIPs
  • Tech-savvy and systems-oriented approach to HR tools
  • Experience building and running onboarding and offboarding processes at scale
  • SOC II or similar compliance experience for security audits
  • Strong employee relations instincts and discretion in sensitive situations
  • Excellent organizational skills managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Comfortable with IT basics including password resets, Google Workspace, and device coordination

Nice to have

  • Experience at a fintech, SaaS, or technology company at Series A to Series C stage
  • Experience supporting a distributed US and Canadian workforce simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Rippling, Lattice, Ashby, Checkr, or Vanta
  • CHRP designation or equivalent Canadian HR certification
  • Experience coordinating external training vendors for manager development programs
