Women's Shinty

Shinty (camanachd) is a Scottish stick-and-ball team sport related to hurling and field hockey, and the women's game is played under its own governing structure, notably the Camanachd Association's women's competitions and the Scottish Women's Camanachd Association. Players use a curved wooden stick (caman) to hit a ball and score goals, and the sport is especially rooted in Scottish Highland communities as a marker of local and cultural identity.
