Wa Shogi
A term referring to a traditional Japanese variant of shogi (Japanese chess), played on a board with pieces that move and capture according to rules distinct from international chess. Like other shogi variants, it's a strategy board game for two players who aim to checkmate the opponent's king, with captured pieces able to be 'dropped' back into play by the capturing side.
