Surf Fishing

Surf fishing is the practice of fishing from the shore in the surf zone where waves break, typically using long rods to cast bait or lures beyond the breakers to reach fish feeding in the churned-up water near the beach. Anglers target species such as striped bass, redfish, pompano, and surfperch, often wading into the shallows or standing on the beach itself. It's popular for its accessibility (no boat required) and the relaxed, meditative appeal of fishing against an ocean backdrop.
