Skydiving

Skydiving is an extreme sport and recreational activity in which a person jumps from an aircraft at altitude and free-falls before deploying a parachute to descend safely to the ground. Divers experience roughly a minute of free fall reaching speeds around 120 mph before opening their canopy for a controlled landing. It attracts thrill-seekers for the intense adrenaline rush and sense of freedom, and is practiced both recreationally (often tandem for beginners) and competitively in disciplines like formation skydiving and canopy piloting.
