Scrub Baseball

Scrub baseball is an informal, pickup version of baseball traditionally played by children with whatever number of players show up, rather than two fixed nine-player teams. Common variants have players rotate through fielding positions and up to bat in a set order, so that getting a batter out lets a fielder move up toward the batting spot. It was especially popular in American neighborhoods and sandlots before organized youth leagues became widespread, prized for needing minimal equipment or formal structure.
