Popinjay

Popinjay is a historic form of archery or shooting in which competitors aim upward at an artificial bird-shaped target mounted atop a tall pole, traditionally practiced in Belgium, France, and Scotland. It survives today mainly as a traditional or ceremonial sport in certain European clubs and towns, valued for its unusual vertical shooting angle and long heritage.
