Pistol Dueling

Pistol dueling refers to the historical practice, common from the 17th through 19th centuries, of two individuals settling a matter of honor by standing a fixed distance apart and firing single-shot pistols at one another under agreed rules. Today the term also describes historical reenactment and competitive shooting events that recreate the formal dueling stance and quick-draw firing at a signal, appealing to history buffs and sport shooters interested in period firearms.
