Paratriathlon

Paratriathlon is the Paralympic adaptation of triathlon, combining swimming, cycling, and running (or wheelchair racing) legs completed in sequence, with distances shorter than a standard triathlon. Athletes are grouped into classification categories based on their type of impairment and use adapted equipment such as handcycles, racing wheelchairs, or guides for visually impaired competitors. It became a Paralympic sport at the 2016 Rio Games and is valued for testing endurance and transition skill across three very different disciplines.
