Land Sailing

Land sailing (or land yachting) is a sport in which wheeled, wind-powered vehicles called land yachts or sand yachts are raced across flat terrain such as beaches, deserts, or dry lake beds. Steered and controlled much like sailboats but running on wheels instead of hulls, these craft can travel significantly faster than the wind pushing them due to their light weight and low friction. Enthusiasts are drawn to the sport for its speed, the skill of harnessing wind on hard ground, and access to large open spaces unsuitable for water sailing.
