Kene

Kené is the name given to the intricate geometric line-pattern art tradition of the Shipibo-Conibo people of the Peruvian Amazon, applied to textiles, ceramics, and body painting. The designs, traditionally created by women and passed down through generations, are believed to carry spiritual and medicinal significance connected to plant-based visionary experiences. Kené has also become recognized internationally as a distinctive indigenous art form and craft practiced and taught as a cultural tradition.
