Coloring books are books containing line-art illustrations meant to be filled in with crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paint. Long popular as a children's activity for developing fine motor skills and creativity, they saw a major resurgence starting in the mid-2010s as intricate adult coloring books marketed for stress relief and mindfulness. Themes range from simple cartoon characters for kids to elaborate mandalas, nature scenes, and pop-culture art for adults.
