Keg-Tossing

Keg tossing (or keg toss) is a strength-athletics event, often seen in Highland games and strongman/CrossFit-style competitions, in which competitors throw a weighted keg (traditionally a beer keg, sometimes filled with sand or water) over a raised bar for height or for maximum distance. It tests explosive power, technique, and coordination in a single throwing motion similar to other Highland games implements like the weight-for-height toss. It's popular as both a serious strength-sport event and a novelty attraction at fairs and festivals.
