Kambala

Kambala is a traditional buffalo racing festival held in the coastal Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka, India, typically after the harvest season, in which pairs of buffaloes are raced by a jockey through muddy, waterlogged paddy fields. Rooted in centuries-old agrarian and religious traditions, it draws large crowds and has more recently developed competitive timing and prizes for the fastest runs.
