Iomain

Iomain is the Scottish Gaelic name for shinty, a traditional stick-and-ball team sport native to the Scottish Highlands, related to Ireland's hurling. Players use a curved wooden stick called a caman to hit a small ball, aiming to score goals on a large outdoor pitch, with physical contact and aerial play both permitted. It remains an important part of Highland cultural identity and is organized today under the Camanachd Association.
