Interpretive Dance
Interpretive dance is a free-form style of movement in which dancers express emotions, ideas, or music through personal, often improvisational choreography rather than following a fixed technical vocabulary. It grew out of early modern dance traditions pioneered by figures like Isadora Duncan, who rejected the rigid structure of classical ballet in favor of natural, expressive movement.
