Hillclimbing

Hillclimbing (or hill climb) is a motorsport discipline in which drivers race individually against the clock up a closed public or private road that climbs a hill or mountain, rather than racing wheel-to-wheel on a circuit. It has a long history in motorsport, particularly in Europe, with historic events like the Shelsley Walsh and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the United States. The sport tests a vehicle's acceleration, handling, and a driver's precision on twisting, often narrow courses with changing elevation.
