Gillidanda

Gillidanda (also spelled gulli danda) is a traditional South Asian street game played with two sticks: a long one (danda) used to strike a small, tapered wooden piece (gilli) into the air and then hit it for distance. Popular across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, it requires only simple homemade equipment and open space, making it a widespread rural and childhood pastime. It is often cited as a folk precursor to games like cricket and baseball.
