Draughts

Draughts, known as checkers in North America, is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 checkered board with pieces that move diagonally forward and capture opponents' pieces by jumping over them. Pieces that reach the far side of the board are "crowned" kings, gaining the ability to move backward as well, and the game is enjoyed both casually and competitively for its blend of simple rules and deep tactical strategy.
