Debate
Debate is a structured form of argumentation in which participants or teams present and contest opposing viewpoints on a given topic or resolution, following agreed rules for speaking order and time limits. It is practiced competitively in schools and universities (such as policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and parliamentary debate formats) as well as in public and political life. People engage in it to sharpen critical thinking, public speaking, and persuasive reasoning skills.
