Competition Aerobatics

Competition aerobatics is a sport in which pilots fly fixed-wing aircraft or gliders through prescribed sequences of loops, rolls, spins, and other maneuvers that are scored by judges for precision and technique. Competitors fly within a defined aerobatic box and are judged against known figures using a standardized grading system (such as the Aresti system). It draws pilots who enjoy the combination of technical mastery, physical G-forces, and artistry involved in controlled high-performance flying.
