VFX Visual Effects

3D, Animation and Game Development

Visual effects (VFX) is the discipline of creating or manipulating imagery outside the context of live-action shot footage, used extensively in film, television, and advertising to produce creatures, environments, explosions, and other elements too costly, dangerous, or impossible to film practically. VFX artists work across specialties including modeling, animation, lighting, and compositing using tools like Maya, Houdini, and Nuke. It is a major creative and technical field within the entertainment industry.
