Three-phase refers to three-phase electric power, a method of alternating current electricity generation, transmission, and distribution using three conductors carrying currents offset in phase by 120 degrees. Electrical engineers and electricians use three-phase systems to power industrial equipment, large motors, and commercial buildings because it delivers power more efficiently and with less voltage ripple than single-phase systems. It is standard in industrial and utility-scale electrical infrastructure.
