StatsD
Cloud Computing and DevOps
StatsD is a lightweight network daemon, originally created at Etsy, that listens for application metrics (counters, timers, gauges) sent over UDP or TCP and aggregates them before forwarding to backend systems like Graphite or Datadog. Software engineers and DevOps teams use it to instrument applications for monitoring performance and operational health with minimal overhead. It became a de facto standard protocol adopted by many metrics libraries and monitoring tools.
